Cachaça Velho Barreiro Silver – the Caipirinha Cachaça in the 1-liter bottle

Velho Barreiro is a well-known Brazilian cachaça brand from the interior of the state of São Paulo. It is produced by the traditional company Tatuzinho, whose history dates back to 1909. The Silver is the clear, unaged variant – fresh, light, and with the typical sugarcane character.

An unaged cachaça like the Silver is a good choice especially for the Caipirinha: It brings no woody notes and lets the lime and sugar take center stage. The 1-liter bottle is the value size for anyone who regularly mixes Caipirinhas or entertains friends.

Preparation of a Caipirinha

Cut a lime into eighths, press it into the glass with two teaspoons of cane sugar, fill with crushed ice and add 5 cl Velho Barreiro Silver. Stir briefly – ready. You can find the detailed recipe in our Caipirinha recipe.
