Brazilian coffee and tea – from plantation coffee and Café Pilão to Erva Mate and traditional herbal teas.
Brazilian coffee and tea – from plantation coffee and Café Pilão to Erva Mate and traditional herbal teas.
Our range includes plantation coffees from the Hamburg roaster Dethlefsen & Balk, sourced from farms in Minas Gerais such as Fazenda Lagoa, São Bento or Carmo, as whole beans, our Cafe Amor and the Brazilian classic Café Pilão – ground or instant. We also offer Erva Mate by Barão de Cotegipe for chimarrão and tererê, Matte Leão in tea bags and traditional herbal teas.
Many coffees in our range are described by their roasters as chocolatey, nutty or caramel-like – you will find the exact flavour profile in each product description. In Brazil, coffee is often enjoyed as Café com Leite with milk or as a small, strong “cafezinho”.
Erva Mate is made from the leaves of the mate plant (Ilex paraguariensis), naturally contains caffeine and is mainly drunk in southern Brazil. Learn more in our guide Erva Mate.
