The São Silvestre Late Harvest is roasted by the Hamburg coffee roaster Dethlefsen & Balk. The name already reveals something special: “Late Harvest” stands for a late harvest. The 1 kg pack of whole beans is ideal for anyone who drinks coffee regularly – for example, from a fully automatic machine or freshly ground.

Cultivation and processing

According to the roaster, the beans come from the side of the coffee plant that only receives morning sun – that is why the cherries ripen more slowly there. Only fully ripe cherries are processed. They are hand-picked and dried unwashed. After that, the beans are stored for at least three months before being hulled. According to the roaster, only about 80 to 100 sacks are produced per year.

Taste

Dethlefsen & Balk describes a soft fullness with notes of caramel, chocolate and nuts and a long-lasting aftertaste.
