Cachaça Rio do Engenho Ouro – aged in wooden barrels

The Cachaça Rio do Engenho Ouro comes from the Brazilian distillery Rio do Engenho. “Ouro” means gold: The cachaça is aged in wooden barrels, developing its golden color as well as a smooth, fruity note with pleasant depth.

According to the manufacturer, Rio do Engenho’s farm is located in a region where Brazil’s first sugarcane plantations were established almost 500 years ago. After the land lay fallow for many years, Luis Galletti bought the farm in 2004, restored it, and began growing sugarcane for cachaça production once again.
