Cachaça Seleta Ouro – from Salinas, aged in Umburana wood
The Cachaça Seleta Ouro comes from Salinas in the north of the state of Minas Gerais – one of the best-known regions for quality cachaça in Brazil. It is distilled in traditional copper stills (Alambique de Cobre) and then aged in Umburana wooden barrels. This gives it its golden color and a round, warm aroma.
The Seleta Ouro is bottled in a 670 ml porcelain bottle – an eye-catcher on the shelf and a great gift for fans of Brazil.
Salinas – a cachaça stronghold
The region around Salinas is known for its artisanal, small-scale production: sugarcane is distilled in copper stills and then aged in local wooden barrels. The Ouro variant of Seleta is aged and therefore milder and rounder than an unaged Prata.
